I feel you, Laura -- summer is Not My Time, either, and I am so ready for fall. (It's always refreshing to me to find someone else who feels this way.)

I love, love, loved The Swimmers!

This is why I publicly gripe about summer on social media—it has enough supporters, and the summer-haters always come out of the woodwork and thank me for voicing an unpopular opinion. Fall will be here soon!

Honestly complaining about summer feels like a calling. People do it all winter long and think nothing of it. Just trying to even out the playing field here!

Thanks for joining and for making me want to brave the creepy waters of Leave the World Behind!

I loved being part of this and seeing what others recommended! I also read Alice Wong's photo essay about her experience this summer, and it was so difficult but so important.

(And I must admit, I am a summer lover, so I will be clawing on to these last days by my fingernails! Fall is my favorite, but it does mean that nice weather is coming to an end, which I hate!)

Thanks for your rec of SUCH A BRILLIANT BOOK! I have Alice Wong's essay bookmarked to read when I have some real time to devote to it. I'm a few pages into her upcoming memoir and it's so good.
