Introducing: The Books & Bakes Review Index!
Greetings, book lovers!
First of all: THANK YOU for subscribing! I love writing this newsletter each week, and I wouldn’t be able to do it without your dollars. I’m not expecting Books & Bakes to turn into a gig that makes me a living, but your support means I can devote some time to it during the workweek, and that makes a huge difference. I truly appreciate you all so much.
A dear friend and subscriber suggested the idea of a review index back in December. She mentioned that it was difficult to search through old newsletters for reviews, and that she’d love a simple aggregate reference to glance at quickly when selecting a new book. This struck me as a brilliant idea! Also, I can’t resist a spreadsheet. So here it is: the brand-new Books & Bakes Review Index!
In the Books & Bakes Subscriber Perks Folder, you’ll find:
Books & Bakes Review Index: This is a list of all the books I’ve recommended in the newsletter! Titles are sorted by genre. I’ve included a link to each book on Bookshop, a link to my review, a one-sentence review/summary, and a few additional notes. My hope is that this will be a useful, user-friendly, easily searchable resource—much simpler than searching through old emails!
Books & Bakes Audiobook Index: This is a separate document that contains my short audiobook reviews from the newsletter. It’s also sorted by genre, and easily searchable via the sidebar on the left.
For here on out, I’ll be updating the indexes weekly with new books and audiobooks.
I’d love to hear what you think of these tools. I’d also love to know if there are other perks you’d appreciate as part of your subscription. Would you use a similar index for recipes? Something else? I’ve been thinking about what kind of content I might provide for paid subscribers in the future, so any suggestions are most welcome.
Thanks again for your support and enthusiasm. I’m so glad you’re here. It’s a pleasure to chat books with you every week. Please enjoy this picture of my pup on my favorite ridge in the snow.
Happy reading!
Laura
