This is the very first of my weekly Bookish Teatime video series! This one is for all subscribers, but future videos will only be for paying subscribers. Want in? You can subscribe here.
I’m sipping on Civil Disobedience from August Uncommon Tea.
I mention that Alice Wong’s book is inspiring (among many other things). It’s not inspiring in a gross, ableist “overcoming disability” way, but in a “wow, there are so many amazing models here for enacting mutual aid and community care” way.
Books mentioned:
At the Pond edited by Daunt Books
Year of the Tiger by Alice Wong
We Are Each Other’s Harvest by Natalie Baszile
The McSweeney’s Queer Fiction Issue edited by Patty Yumi Cottrell
Engine Running by Cade Mason (December 5th)
Shutter by Ramona Emerson
It was a wild ride making this first video—thank you so much for watching!
